I think this is easily the most unique sounding melodic prog metal album I've since, well ever. |

Yes! Yes!!! Yes, though I have gotten into Gojira little by little but like what I have heard so far after the past few years . Bands like Prostest the Hero, Periphery and Textures, for people who know a bit about me here, you'd think I'd be nuts for them, I guess its that "Math Core" factor that doesnt have me liking it. I should listen to those guys more. Nick Dilley - you might like this Thread I started . . . http://www.metalmusicarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=4047 Enjoy all . BTW . . .
I had created these 2 "PLAYLISTS" in response to a guy on a Linkedin Metal Group who threw out the Question: "What has happened to Melodic Metal Vocals?". So it inspired me to do these Playlists . Both have a lot of Prog Metal, Tech-Metal/Math Metal, Avant-Garde, Thrash, Doom, Darkwave and whatever else (at-least the stuff I like) that has "Melodic" vocals. Working on Part III, but here are the 2 with, I'm sure stuff you may not have heard of . . . Melodically Vocaled: Phase I Phase II Hope you all enjoy!

Wow, I just read every post on every page
I'm a big prog metal fan, have tons of stuff from the usual bands, but am always looking for the rare gem. I really liked that Russian band someone posted on pg. 3 or thereabout...Mechanical Poets? Sounded really good, I'll have to check 'em out Also, does any one know where I can get Distorted Harmony - Utopia on cd? Everywhere I've looked on the web it's only available for mp3 download. I'd rather purchase a cd if possible...

I'd recommend my friends in Winter Crescent any time. Check out their Battle of Egos-EP from 2009. They're also working on a new album.

Thank you MAVIIIVAM playlist looks great. I pretty much have most of those bands in my collection. Just checking out Everon. It's great to find good new Prog Bands. Check out Timesword, if you like Symphony X you'll enjoy it. Have you listen to ANAXES or Anthriel? Highly recommend to try Russian band EXTROVERT "make the ocean awake".
