I know next to nothing about this band other than that I heard a song around the time it first came out on a sampler and liked it. The album only cost me 1.79 new on ebay so I took a chance on it.

Since my recent pickups include both metal and non-metal things, I'll post this in both threads. Thumbs Up

My local record store recently had a 50% off everything sale, so I abused the fuck out of that opportunity. They have excellent prices without a sale, but I got all of this stuff for less than $43. I got some excellent things to add to my collection here, and a few of these pieces have been on my search list for months:

I also stayed at my grandmother's house for a few days recently, and visited two of the music stores in her area. I got a few cool things there too:

...and now I need to stop buying shit and actually listen to it! LOL

I'm also trying to use eBay.  I am winning some of these right now such as one for Graveland's Creed of Iron, Moonsorrow's Kivenkantaja, and Nokturnal Mortum's Twilightfall (1995 CD in DVD box).  I had more, but people either outbid me regularly or with this automatic bid shit.

This song reminded me of you, Wily (even though you probably don't like the song itself):

Bought a new iPod.
Mine was on the fritz.

Also had bought a Faith No More boxset, Gamma Ray double album reissue, Accept album and Queensryche DVD.

Financially reckless behavior only about a tenth sponsored by my birthday.

I got some really awesome shit at my most recent trip to the record store in Princeton, NJ. I can't believe this Iced Earth boxed live 3-CD set was only $5! Big smile

A Good Beginning, Kid A, ( ), Rage Against the Machine, Endtroducing...., and (the best) Lift Yr. Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven!

That is a good haul.

^ I've already heard (and fallen in love with) Rage Against the Machine, Mr. Bungle, and The Doors (coincidentally all of those are self-titled! LOL), but a lot of the others are classics as well. I'm super excited to give those post-rock albums by Sigur Ros and GYBE a spin - believe it or not, I've never heard any of them! Shocked

Both of those Sigur Ros albums are indeed classics.  Love both of them to death.

All of them ended, and I got outbid on all of them.  $33 for Twilightfall.  Is that what it's going to come to now?  Also, I don't think there is a 1995 version on CD of that anyway.

Oh well, you should be in for a treat.  I doubt you heard much post-rock if you haven't heard those before.  The ambiance in both Lift Yr. Skinny Fists and A Good Beginning are top-notch.  Same with the climaxes.  Although I do prefer Lift Yr. Skinny Fists on both of those fronts.  Sleep has to be the most beautiful post-rock song created.
