I rarely drink, but when I do it's usually just a beer or two.

Jack Daniels for me, either as a shot or with a little water. If no JD is available, then Jim Beam, Smokey Jim's or Kentucky Spirit will do just fine. However, I drink beer A LOT more often than I do spirits.

Re Cert's comment, I didn't think Jack Daniels made any Scotch, though perhaps it branched out to Scotch. I do have some of it at home (Tennessee Whiskey ), but I prefer Scotch or Irish whiskey (I like single malts). Mostly I drink bitters and various dark beers/ales -- I rarely enjoy a lager, love Stout, and wine, but I do have brandy, port, sherry, and Grand Marnier or Cointreau quite frequently. I don't think my tastes in alcohol are very metal. Last night I had some Pernod, but I'm not a big drinker and usually I only drink in company, and never drink to get drunk.
I think that metalheads commonly drink Shirley Temples Edited by Logan - 29 Mar 2010 at 1:00pm |

Captain Morgan, because it's rather pirate-like.
And pirates are metal enough to have their own metal subgenre. |

Went for Jack but not much of a drinker these days only parties,weddings and funerals or if someone calls in and I know they like a few.I will put myself out and scoff a few cans ( just to be social) beer though Bourbon........straight or with a little ice is the way to go. The Jim Beam specialist Small Batch Labels are beautiful. Bookers or. Bakers ........way to go Mixing it with sugary liquids is not. Waste of good bourbon. Who cares if he says scotch but I much prefer a nice blend with a rough texture for the Kentucky ......Bit of pow

I voted for 'something else' - my special sangria, both in the winter and warmer season versions!

I voted Jack Daniels, even though I've never actually tried it. But that's like the quintessential thing to down before/during/after a concert. Whether you're playing in it or not.

Lost respect for these archives when I saw Creed added, among other bands. Not going to be foruming here anymore. You can keep my reviews if you want.

@Raff and Micky...
Sangria has some good memories for me, when I was doing an acoustic demo with one of my mates a few years back, I was getting piss-drunk with this industrial size bottle of sangria...because we were recording in the 'box room' of his house, it was so cramped that you can hear the clinking of the bottle here and there in parts of the demo! Now that was a summer I could relive a few times over...

"I don't drink" - abstention = willpower, willpower = strength, strength = metal!
At least, that's my excuse for being a metal head and an alcohol abstentionist |

One of the most metal blokes I've ever met is a non drinker. No need for excuses!
I don't know his name but I call him 'Wishbone Ash Guy'.

I was basically just referring to the boozehoundmetaldude stereotype, you know. I'm proud to be a boring alcohol abstentionist metal head :-)
