Beautifully shot film, 140 minutes with only 39 languidly paced shots - an experience well worth any film buffs time. Requires a lot of patience though. 9/10.

I saw the new James Bond on opening weekend here in the UK. It is better than both Casino Royale & Quantum Of Solace. It is a proper film rather than just another entry in the franchise. Still quite 'dark' in storyline and doesn't rely on gadgets or 'camp humour'. Also has some scenes filmed in Scotland so that gets it extra points from me. Great acting, good plot and nice action sequences as always adds up to 4.5 stars.

I just watced The Color of Money.

I forgot it was a Scorcese film.  Not one of his best, but still a good movie.  I got a kick out of the Iggy Pop cameo.

I just finished up a classic horror film:

The Omen (1976)

I think it goes without saying that this one is awesome! ClapBig smile

Watched this old martial arts film out of Hong Kong last night. It's English title is 'The Storm Riders' and it had sub-titles rather than poor dubbing which I hate. Story was pretty decent and action sequences were good but would have been better with a bigger budget. Not a classic but a solid 3/5

I just watched this a few hours ago.  Good background for the bad guy, which usually translates to an enjoyable movie.  Based on the first watch, I'd say it's one of the best Bonds I've seen (I've seen maybe 10-12 Bond films).  There was quite a good deal of humour in it.  Sometimes campy, but not overly so like in a Roger Moore Bond film.

I also watched that movie earlier tonight! Big smile

Skyfall (2012)

Great film all around! I'm not usually the biggest fan of action films, but I think this is one of the best Bond movies for sure. Daniel Craig is suave as hell, and the scripting is pretty great too. Definitely recommended! Thumbs Up

Just finished this one up...

You Don't Mess With the Zohan (2008)

This movie sucked, honestly. I don't typically like Adam Sandler, but this is bad even by his standards - his Israeli accent is one of the worst I've ever heard, and there are hardly any funny parts throughout the entire film. Not recommended at all. Thumbs Down

I watched 10 minutes of that movie, and stopped.  I shouldn't have given him another chance after Upchuck & Larry.

^ I never watched that one. I liked movies like Big Daddy and Click when I was 10 or 11 years old (basically the time when anything related to farts is the funniest thing in the world! LOL), but I've been disappointed with every Sandler film I've seen recently. I should probably go back and watch his earlier movies again at some point, but there are simply too many great movies that I haven't seen yet to spend much time on Sandler.

At the place my sense of humor is at, I don't even find his old movies as funny as I used to.  Billy Madison has definite nostalgia for many people I know because a good chunk of the film was shot where I grew up (Oshawa).  I occasionally watch Happy Gilmore when I see it's on TV as well, as it was the first Sandler movie I ever watched.

I remember Click being one of those movies that tried to push for drama at the climax, but I found to be the most laughable part of the film. LOL

I watched a classic yesterday, House of Wax (1953).  I hadn't seen it before, and was surprised to see Charles Bronson in a minor role as a mute.

Today, I watched a pretty rough quality public domain film The Chase (1946).  It had a few puzzling twists, but the overall plot was interesting.

After how much I enjoyed Skyfall (2012), I decided to go back and watch a classic Bond film earlier this evening. Smile

From Russia With Love (1963)

I thought it was definitely a very solid film, but like a lot of these sort of movies, it doesn't impact me much after I've finished watching. I also thought that it didn't start to get really good until the second half or so. Sean Connery is suave as hell, though, and Daniela Bianchi is definitely one of the best Bond girls ever. I'd give it a 3.5 out of 5 probably; a really good movie that doesn't quite reach the excellent tier IMO.

Just finished this cult classic:

The Last House on the Left (1972)

I can't say I was too impressed, really. The acting is pretty poor, the soundtrack is entirely out of place, the production values are terrible, and suspenseful atmosphere is far too inconsistent. It's a decent movie that fans of extremely campy horror flicks might enjoy, but nothing too special IMO.

La dolce casa degli orrori (1989)

aka The Sweet House of Horrors

Watched this Italian TV movie last night. Was drawn by the fact that it was written & directed by Fulci. Pretty average giallo horror film with very little gore and a really annoying couple of kids. 2/5

I watched this earlier this evening:

Inkubus (2011)

I was thoroughly surprised by this one - I wasn't expecting much from a B-horror film like this, but I actually found the plot to be very engaging and the atmosphere to be tense and exciting. It's nothing revolutionary for the horror genre, but if you enjoy gory splatter films, this one should be right up your alley! Thumbs Up
