Amorphis - Tales from the Thousand Lakes (Really good death/doom but I find their later stuff has more to offer) Bloodbath - Nightmares Made Flesh (Very solid death metal and in my opinion, their best release) Deceased - Supernatural Addiction* (Death/thrash that is absolutely amazing. The riffs on this album and on any other of their albums are fantastic) Fleshgod Apocalypse - Oracles (Pretty cool technical/brutal death metal, one of the better albums in the subgenre) Frightmare - Midnight Murder Mania* (Death/grind with lyrics about classic slasher films. Lots of fun to listen to) Katalepsy - Autopsychosis* (I'm not huge into brutal death metal, but this album is killer. Kicks my face in every time I listen to it) * Check these out in particular

  The Pagan's Mind was a blind purchase at a resale shop. I felt bad for not buying any metal in the longest time so I just decided to get something. It could have been a disaster but I really like this one, not sure why it's bashed so often. |

Perhaps the coolest thing about that set was that I learned the cool riff played in the intro of several Earache DVDs I own was from "The Voyage of The Homeless Sapien". I'd been waiting years to learn what that was from.
