Who will win the Stanley Cup this year. The Vancoyuver Canucks or the Boston Bruins. The Canucks won game 1, 1-0.
Living on Vancouver Island and being a die hard fan of the Canucks for 35 years. Is there any doubt who's going to win.

Not only do I not like either team, but I find that both of them play boring hockey. They don't put forth an exciting game, they just get ugly garbage goals by hacking in front of the net. Tampa Bay vs San Jose would have been exponentially more interesting to watch.

Glad with the result of Game 2, but it seems so odd ending OT in a Cup finals so quickly. I wonder what the record is for fastest OT goal in a finals game.

The fastest OT goal in the Stanley Cup finals was 9 seconds scored by Brian Skudland from the Montreal Canadiens against the Calgary Flames 25 years ago.
BTW, the final score was 3-2. I was in a frenzy when I posted the score. Edited by cannon - 05 Jun 2011 at 2:26pm |

I don't really like hockey, I'm more of a baseball, soccer, football person.

No wonder I couldn't remember that one. It was the first cup final to occur in my lifetime.

I goggled it.
I remember both finals between Calgary/Montreal. I guess I'm getting old. Hell, I remember the 1982 finals when the Canucks lost 4 straight against the NYI and still have nightmares about the 1994 finals when the NYR beat us in 7.
Those nightmares will go away when we win a cup.

Another azz kickin' last night. The difference in these two last games has been the goaltending IMO. Thomas has been outstanding but Luongo has been brutal. He's been so inconsistent in the playoffs. Don't what the hell you're going to get on a given night.
The series tied 2-2 going back to Vancouver. The best of three now.

Thomas could be MVP even if the Bruins don't win it all.

I agree. Win or lose, as of right now he's the front runner. The last to win the Conn Smythe that lost in the final was goalie Ron Hextall of the Flyers about 20 years ago losing to the Oilers. That one I remembered.

Actually I think Jean Seabastien Giguere won it a few years backs (2003?) when the Ducks lost to the Devils.

You're right. I just looked it up. Ron Hextall('87) was next then Reggie Leach with the Flyers in '76 when the Canadiens beat them and good 'ole Roger Crozier in '66 with the Wings. I think Kirk MacLean should of won in it '94 but Brian Leetch of the Rangers got the nod.
Well, we no one player that's not going to win it...Luongo.
