Not on Prime (even to buy) or Netflix here but to be fair these services tend to suck for subtitled stuff that isn't original content or European.

Start of a partial re-run through Dario Argento's work. Mainly the ones I have on blu-ray but probably also a couple of others providing they haven't been removed from Prime. Difference with this one this time around is that before I saw this in English since that's what the disc defaulted to. This time I watched it in Italian.

Looks like you've got a good grounding in Ghibli canon now.

The saddest from the trilogy (there is a fourth film, I haven't see it yet). Good martial arts flick!

Kubrick's first feature film. And it's crap. Apparently he thought so as well and legend has it he tried to have all copies destroyed. Man, I wish he'd succeeded because then I wouldn't have wasted an hour (that's only about how long it is) on this. This is an exceptional noir that could have been top tier but I felt like there was potential for this to get even more twisted and dark than it was. I guess the production code of the day held them back from taking the ideas here too far. Still it's a great movie and so far easily the best of the bunch of noir movies I got on Arrow Video's recent sale. Great action sequences, especially the fight scenes, but thin on plot. It's basically a rotation of 'capture guy, lose guy, find guy again, lose guy again', and so forth.

Second viewing, this time on the Arrow Video blu-ray with restoration work done. Looked fantastic.
A rather short but solid noir/psych thriller. |

I'm surprised by how little I remembered of this movie, considering it was only about 14 months since I first saw it. Felt like watching it for the first time again, for the most part.

That's a great movie! Watched this last night: The game sequences are still amazing, but the story holding them together is completely laughable now. Well... it probably was in 1975 as well!

Peter Lorre... Probably my favourite actor who was working in the 1930s. This old poster makes him look like a supporting actor here but he's actually the lead. And this is a gem recommended to anyone who's seen his most famous role in M.

Top tier Japanese war film. I still have parts II & III to watch, which I expect I'll do tomorrow and Sunday. Did this one this afternoon in one sitting.

I didn't find part 2 quite as compelling as part 1, but I'm still well invested after about 6.5 hours.
