I remember seeing it when it came out at age 12 or 13. I recalled it being a bit... creepy? Pervy? Weird? Loved the fantasy elements of it, but the Jareth/Sarah relationship just seemed wrong. Anyway, just got this out of the bargain bin. It was $2.97, and probably a bit overpriced at that. Edited by Vim Fuego - 09 Jul 2018 at 12:55pm |

Very good psychological black comedy. Excellent but not sure it deserves to be the most critically acclaimed MCU movie.

Not much can really be said about this, just another sequel from another overstretched horror franchise. I thought that 1 & 2 were decent (haven't seen 3) and 4, the first prequel was okay, but this was just shit. Found it hard to follow sometimes which I'm not entirely sure was due to the language barrier/subtitles but overall a good Korean film.

Not being funny but I think it got that acclaim mainly due to being a black superhero movie, something otherwise severely lacking. I enjoyed it but I definitely don't think it's top tier MCU. Not sure it would even be in my top 10. Even within Phase 3, at least four other movies were much more entertaining than this for me (Civil War, Thor Ragnarök, Guardians 2 & Infinity War).

...just the terrible accent they had and the whole Wakanda concept were cringe worthy. It was really one of those rare movies where I felt I had completely wasted my time. Edited by UMUR - 12 Jul 2018 at 3:33am |

An absolute blast of a movie IMO. Have you seen the other two movies in the triology? Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance and Lady Vengeance.

What did they do? When I lived in Korea I went to a restaurant where they cooked the food in front of you. I didn't realise they were going to throw a live octopus in the pot. I do have to say though, it tasted delicious...

It was served still alive on the plate and the actor had to actually eat it live. |

Quite possibly (read: very likely) the most downright weird film I have ever seen. Oddly compelling viewing, but what the fuck did I just watch?

Unpopular opinion time: This has to be one of the most boring, overrated films I've ever forced myself to get to the end of. While I thought it started quite promisingly, with a sense of mystery that intrigued me from the getgo, I felt that shortly after Stanton's character finally started talking the film quickly took a nosedive. I'm left really bewildered as to why this is oft considered one of the best movies ever made.

Yeah, a lot of David Lynch's films are like that; VERY surreal! May also want to check out Blue Velvet and Eraserhead(might be an acquired taste though...it IS an arthouse film). I myself plan on checking out Inland Empire after I finish Blade Runner(a film I've never seen before but am enjoying thoroughly so far).
