Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0075860/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

I thought this was long and boring and quite frankly overacted too. It didn´t do anything for me.

Enter the Void (2009)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1191111/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

Very weird, psychadelic, and dark. I had a hard time sitting through this pretty long movie (2:40 hours long).

Highly entertaining psychological drama.

Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt in Looper (2012)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1276104/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

I liked this one. Felt like the lost brother of 12 Monkeys (without quite reaching the excellence level of that movie though).

Southland Tales (2006)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0405336/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

Apocalyptic dark comedy...hmm...it had its moments, but overall it was too long and a Little boring too.

Paddy Considine, Martin Freeman, Nick Frost, Eddie Marsan, Simon Pegg, and Rosamund Pike in The Worlds End (2013)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1213663/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

...oh hell yeah, Pegg and Frost Clap. I liked this one. Loads of beers, mates who hate each other, but once the apocalyptic Things start happening, they actually find that they´ve missed each other after all.

Turbo Kid (2015)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3672742/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

Being an 80s kid, this movie resonated really well with me. BMX bikes, post-apokalypse, cheesy 80s synth soundtrack, and blood...lots of blood.

Here's a few watched since I last posted:

We Are Still Here (2015) - OK horror that didn't live up to its hype.

Wall-E (2008) - recently rediscovered my love for Pixar films. Never saw this one before was surprised by its more mature (while still being family orientated, of course), themes.

Toy Story 3 (2010) - Watched this one out of curiosity as the first two were childhood favourites. Actually very enjoyable for adults I thought. I feel like it was maybe made more for those who grew up with 1 & 2 than the new generation, at least in some ways.

+ every other Pixar film I grew up with, revisited for the nostalgia and to see how they hold up. Finding Nemo for me remains the the best. I had forgotten how genuinely funny that film is no matter what age you are. Mine!

I also enjoy picking out all the pop culture references in kids films that went over my head when I was a kid, such as in Monsters Inc where Randall references his actor's (Steve Buscemi) character in Fargo, specifically the part about 'going through the shredder' LOL

Open Range (2003) - Pretty good western.

Once Upon a Time in America (1984) - Watched this in several chunks due to its near four hour length. A very good film overall, though I actually found the childhood scenes a lot more compelling.

^I´d really like to Watch Once Upon a Time in America at some point, but I´m not sure I can sit through a 4 hours long film, so I´ll probably follow your example and Watch it in chunks. I actually often to that when watching movies, because of how my life is structured at the moment. I seldom have 2 hours to spend just watching a movie.

I haven´t read the book, but this crime drama thriller is pretty long and boring. I was never able to connect to any of the main characters and the motive for the murders was way too obvious and clíche. Both Fassbender and Ferguson are usually great actors, but they didn´t Work here.

^ Yeah I've heard that's pretty terrible in all aspects. I might give it a look if it ever pops up on Prime on Netflix just out of morbid curiosity, but otherwise I won't bother.

Some good car chase work here, but ultimately I didn't care for this movie. I had heard good things about it and I like De Niro as a leading actor, but for some reason this just seemed pretty dull right from the get-go to me.

I watched it years ago, but I don´t remember it at all. Maybe I didn´t enjoy it much either.

I watched it yesterday and barely remember anything about it. That's how engaging it was.

Re-watched a few favourites that I'd seen earlier this year:

Fargo (1996) - to celebrate finishing the TV series.

V for Vendetta (2005) - I think this is a brilliant movie with some great dialogue.

Zombieland (2009) - I can see that this is going to be one of those films that I watch a lot. No less funny the second time around.

Contact (1997) - love this sci-fi movie.

Also watched the following for the first time:

The Wild Bunch (1969) - masterpiece western.

The Shallows (2016) - I didn't set out to watch this. Someone else had it on while I was sitting there. It was an okay but pretty bog-standard shark attack film. Feel like you see one of those you've seen them all. That said, I am intrigued by The Meg which is out soon.

And finally two more Pixar movies: Up (2009) and Brave (2012).
