This had a lot of potential but left too many questions unanswered about why the supernatural events were happening.

On first watch doesn't replace Thor: Ragnarok as my #1 MCU film, but it was close.

^I haven't been following the MCU movies at all, but I read spoilers for that one, and it seems very forced, honestly, from what I've read it about it. Don't get the hype at all, especially considering much of what happened will almost certainly get retconned. Then again, my superhero burnout is definitely a thing, so it could be that.

Didn't seem that way to me. It's a very fast paced action packed movie that in spite of its over two hour running time flies by. You are right about events being retconned in some way though. You don't even need to say almost. It's something I hate about the film and TV business: you know certain things in advance by what upcoming titles they announce.

The spoiler was the excellent Infinity arc from 2013 that this story is based on, if you fancy a bit of comic reading.

Yeah, you'd know a certain character will have to be brought back, considering he has to star in his own movie shortly after The Next Avengers, so it makes that feel kinda pointless. I do feel that applies to superheros in general, though, where it's pretty much impossible to permanently kill them off, either because of ongoing projects, or because fans of the overall lore wouldn't accept it, so it kinda takes some of the tension away. I did love Logan, though, and really hope they stick with that ending, and don't ruin it in the future, because it felt deserved. (It probably will get ruined, though, either that or they'll just reboot it, since I think X-Men can be tied to the MCU soon, at least if I heard correctly.)

^ X-Men will enter the MCU at some point after Phase 3 but I expect they might 'reboot' the X-men franchise within the MCU with new actors. Especially since the X-men series and the MCU both used two versions of the same character at one point.

That's probably for the best, tbh. I really hope Hugh Jackman never plays Wolverine again, as great as he was, because Logan was the best way for that version of the character to go out, imo.

He did say Logan would be his last time as Wolverine, so I don't expect to see him return again.

This had quite a Reservoir Dogs vibe to it (meaning criminal action goes pear shaped and then all hell breaks loose). Not as good as that classic, but enjoyable enough. Though only 90 minutes could have stood to be a bit shorter though because once the shooting starts the rest of the film is basically when big gunfight with a few respites before it flares up again. There's a darkly humours slant on it too, like much of Tarantino's work.

Haven't seen too much of the original series. Thought this film was pretty poor though.

Re-watch. Great film but still dislike the ending.

This feels like one of those slow arty farty films that I dislike in general. Despite being unsure for a while, especially after an elongated scene involving just watching Rooney Mara eating a pie, I ultimately really liked this one. The whole 'sheet ghost' thing though...I kept expecting Shaggy and Scooby to burst in at any moment to unmask him.
