Alice by a long shot. I was in to Alice heavily as a younger fellow and I was utterly devastated with the passing of Layne.

Alice in Chains
Both, far more than "grunge" if I may say so, both much better than the overrated Nirvana. |

The only two grunge bands I actually liked. XD AiC wins, particularly Dirt. An album with some atmosphere, musicianship and dynamism, all sadly rare things in mainstream music at the time.

I´m a huge Alice in Chains fan, while I like certain albums but Soundgarden, so it´s definitely Alice in Chains for me.

I'm having a hard time deciding, I love both but I must say AiC has the most consistently good discography.

My experience with the Alice In Chains is more polished, all existing grunge bands that I love most is Alice. Guitar tuned half step down, rhythmic bass, clean battery, the band fascinates me! What's more, two vocalists (at the time, Stanley and Cantrell)!
Between Soundgarden and STP (Stone Temple Pilots), I get STP. ps: And I also think that Nirvana overrated, but it's just MY opinion. Edited by Gabimm - 07 Feb 2015 at 11:24am |

Soundgarden was great but Alice in Chains are the best of all the "grunge" bands.
