Hey guys,
In preparation for the collab's top 2010 album list, here's a few of my favorite metal albums that have come out (and I have heard) so far this year. I'm sure I'm forgetting a bunch, but I think it's safe to say that these are a confident top 17 from me. Please only vote if you've heard at least 4 of these albums, just to keep things somewhat fair. --Jeff |

Heh, Maiden is the only one I've heard, and I think there are two other bands from whom I've heard something at least. I'm so well in touch with the times.

I've heard Albatross, Ax7 and Maiden (and I've preordered Atheist, so I hope to hear that one soon, too), so I'm kinda out of touch, too :-) and out of those three I think that I'd go for a split first between Albatross and Maiden.

I have 7 and Star One on order.
Haken stands out for me.
To add to the list for me would be Dante, Day Six, Darkwater, Dianoya, Division By Zero, Framepictures, Hemina, Myrath, Opeth (live), Orphaned Land, Quandary, TesseracT and Tetrafusion.
There are a few others I've yet to play or play enough and The Shadow Theory album is out at the end of November Woot!!!

Yup, I got a promo from Season of Mist a while ago. If you're really jealous, you can contact them and apply as a reviewer and get all the promos. They have some great stuff on that label, so I highly recommend it. |

I'm missing a lot of 2010 albums that I still want to get. The live Opeth, TesseracT, Vanden Plas, and Orphaned Land are all albums that I hope to get soon... you can only hear so many albums, though! |

From the above albums, I've only heard select tracks from some of them (I'd guess 1/2 of them). None of those 2010 releases do I either own or have heard in their entirety . Jupiter will definitely hit my ears when it's out.

I really should apply to be a reviewer, there's no way I can keep up with new releases anyway.
No vote, but Alcest's latest is my top thusfar. |

Finntroll- Nifelvind
Westering- Help a Body My top 2 would be those. I think everyone knows about Finntroll, if not they are folk metal band and Westering is atmospheric black metal band. Both are recommended by one of my awesome freind. |

^ Go to their label website (http://www.season-of-mist.com/), then go to the contacts page (http://www.season-of-mist.com/contacts). Contact the promotional or press person in your region, mention that you're a reviewer here, and you should get an iPool with their upcoming stuff. I get tons of new music for free by doing this with labels and bands. I would review the music anyway, so getting it for free in exchange for a review is a good deal for me.

Road Salt one was pretty boring IMO. I've heard some of Jupiter and am intending to pick it up.
Enslaved's Axioma Ethica Odini is painfully absent from the list, which would get my vote. |
|||
Lost respect for these archives when I saw Creed added, among other bands. Not going to be foruming here anymore. You can keep my reviews if you want.
