I've noticed that when I listen to vinyl as opposed to a CD, Cassette, or Youtube video the guitar solos usually seem to be much louder. I love guitar solos as much as the next person, but I have to sometimes turn the volume down while listening to some of my records during the solos because they're so much louder than the rest of the song.

I'm not sure if it's just the production/mixing of the particular albums, the built in speakers in my record player, or something else. To those who listen to vinyl, have you ever had this issue?

Never thought of it. Maybe it´s just certain albums where the guitar solos are placed high in the mix?

I do know that's the case with Black Sabbath Born Again, as the guitar solos are just as loud on the remaster. The guitar solos on Exodus's Pleasures of the Flesh don't sound too loud on Youtube videos of it though, but the solos sound louder on my vinyl of it.

I'll have to go through listening to a good portion of my vinyls to possibly find out what it is.

That's probably down to the quality of the Youtube version and being more compressed. your vinyl is going to have a more dynamic range.

Vinyl's considered to be the best audio format because of the lack of compression with the sound quality. YouTube, CD and Mp3 are pretty guilty of it though. I've heard that FLAC files have better quality in the long run.
