Two 1976 albums from two major entities of 70's metal. JP may have gone on to be one of metal's biggest bands while Rainbow were more rooted in hard rock, but I think it's undeniable that in 76 these were a pair of key albums for heavy metal.
They are also two albums that I love pretty much equally and really struggle to pick between when it comes to 1976. I'm curious to see which will come out on top in this little poll. For obvious reasons, I'm abstaining from a vote myself.

I love both albums immensely, but I guess I'll vote Rainbow. Overall I do prefer Judas Priest though, and would have more easily voted for them if it was Rocka Rolla or Sin After Sin (As far as 70's albums go).

Both are brilliant and currently the top two albums in the heavy metal sub-genre on the site. Rainbow is even our number #2 overall right now. However I have to give my vote to Priest.

Sad Wings for me, no contest. What an absolute beast of an album.

Both brilliant but Sad Wings has the edge...just. Any album that has Victim Of Changes on has an unfair advantage.

Sad Wings of Destiny. Love Rising too but I prefer Judas Priest as a band overall which gives them the edge.
