Bemoan the stupidly high prices of that album you're after in here, or comment on stuff that you've had years that's suddenly expensive.
Just came across this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Passage-Heathen-Foray/dp/B001TH240W/ref=sr_1_3?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1496601310&sr=1-3&keywords=Heathen+Foray A few years ago I did not even pay £5 for this. Now the cheapest on Amazon is almost £250 and even Discogs who usually have much better prices it's £70.

The majority of Japanese metal albums.
The Japanese thrash scene of the 80's/90's produced some of the greatest underrated albums out there, but good luck trying to find many of them for cheaper than $30 or even finding them at all. I would love to have this album in my collection, but I have a hard time justifying paying $30 for any CD: https://www.discogs.com/United-Human-Zoo/master/679254 Then this is the only copy I've seen of this album: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jurassic-Jade-After-Killing-Mam-CD-Japan-/330857893189?hash=item4d08aacd45:m:mJv32L_InIzCnGHTbx_h_Bw

One that's bugged me for a while is Kentucky by Panopticon, but fortunately it's been reissued this month. I was supposed to be getting my CD for it tomorrow but it looks like the label has delayed the CD by two weeks at the last minute, even though the vinyl seems to have come out as planned.

They say that Cd's are worthless these days (something I don't agree with by the way) but try telling that to the people selling 2nd hand copies of Vader- De Profundis. It's long out of print and I regularly see it for sale for £100 +. About time for a re-issue I think. The only version I have is a download but I'd like a hard copy though not at those prices.

Exhorder's Slaughter in the Vatican used to go for ridiculous prices until it was reissued. I got it for $10 second hand.
In the past, a lot of Earache stuff used to be damn expensive here. I paid $45 for Bolt Thrower's Realm of Chaos, at a time when most CDs went for $32. Paid a similar price for Immortal's Blizzard Beasts. Also paid a similar silly high price for a Korean version of Altars of Madness, but that was due to my piss poor mathematics, and stuffing up the exchange rate! There's a lot of stuff I never bought back in the day because the prices were just too high to justify it. I didn't have much from bands like Impaled Nazarene, Emperor, Darkthrone (although I'm glad I didn't now!), Burzum etc. 90s black metal was just too damn pricey. |
