I've been just obsessed with this band since discovering them, so are there any other fans of these criminally underrated German thrashers? All of their first four albums are great, especially Metal Revolution and particularly Protected From Reality.
Vocalist Thorsten "Toto" Bergmann is an absolute air-raid siren on those two albums, especially on Protected from Reality. He sounds like Udo meets Sound of Perseverance-era Chuck Schuldiner. Here's a couple of their best songs: One of the greatest instrumentals ever made, just listen to that classical guitar:

Back in th 80's I was heavilly into thrash and always on the lookout for the next great band. These guys passed me by somehow. Pretty good though.

They were always considered second tier at best. First heard them on the compilation on the B side of Motorhead's No Sleep At All live album. That also featured Mekong Delta.

I wish people would stop classifying bands into "tiers".
Heathen is one of my favorite thrash bands. What tier is that?

I agree, and this certainly ain't no second tier: If a band is good, they're good. That's my policy. But back to Living Death, this is starting to become a Heathen appreciation thread.

They weren't one of the bands filling the pages of the metal mags back then. |

^ I remember early 90s, the big 4 were all in a rock megazine I was reading. My favorite thrash in high school, beside Metallica (who were yet to release the Black album) were Testament and Kreator. I read about Kreator and Testament in magazines back then, too (they were releasing Souls of Black and Coma of Souls), I'd be lying if I didn't say it.
But the big 4 were getting a ton of attention, after all it was a gimmick from their labels to popularize the genre and make some money. And they did I guess...
