Two bands named after members in the band whom plays hairy metal and heavy metal whom both had a hit songs but also good songs. Which of these bands whombwas not affraid of keybord solos do you like the most. I find both to be enjoyable but i find Van Halen has more creddability. There are som good bass lines in Bon Jovi.

I like Bon Jovi more, but after Lost Highway I lost track of them. Van Halen's first records are also great, though.

Easily Van Halen for me for those 1st 6 albums. Not so keen on the Hagar years despite the fact that he's a better singer than Roth but they lost something after he left. Hagar's finest moment came earlier on the first Montrose album. As for Bon Jovi - 1st, 3rd and 4th albums were pretty good but after that I couldn't find much to enjoy.

I do like both bands. I agree with Paul that Bon Jovi albums 1, 3 and 4 are the best albums - in my opinion by some way. Unlike Paul I do like Van Halen with Sammy Hagar, although it's no Montrose for sure. Voted for Van Halen.

Van Halen is WAAAAY overrated. Great guitarist, shit band. And Slippery When Wet has a special place in my memory. Almost, ALMOST, got me laid as a teenager.

Both lame bands overall but Van Halen had a few great ones in their early years. The first Bon Jovi album is really good too. Eddie Van Halen was a major force in metal so i'll choose Van Halen.
