I havent been a devoted doom metal fan since the mid-nineties but some of my favorites are:

My Dying Bride - Turn Loose the Swans
Confessor - Condemned
Cathedral - The Ethereal Mirror
Paradise Lost - Gothic
Trouble - Psalm 9
Candlemass - Epicus Doomicus Metallicus
Katatonia - Viva Emptiness ( kind of borderline, but I guess this one can be justified)

I don't have that many doom metal albums but from those I own the favorites are:

There is not chronological order:

1. The 3rd and the Mortal - Sorrow
2. The Third and the Mortal - Tears Laid In Earth
3. The Third and the Mortal - Nightswan
4. The Gathering - Mandylion
5. Candlemass - Nightfall
6. Candlemass - Tales of Creation
7. Sacrilege - Turn Back Trilobite
8. Theatre of Tragedy - Velvet Darkness they Fear
9. Anathema - Pentecoast III
10. Neolithic - The Personal Fragment of Life (Doom/Death with Violin)

Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath
Candlemass - King of the Grey Islands / From the 13th Sun (weird picks I know)
Solitude Aeturnus - Adagio
My Dying Bride - As the flower withers
Paradise Lost - Shades of God
Neurosis - Through Silver in Blood (bit of a stretch maybe)
Spiritual Beggars - Ad Astra (doom-fun!)
Triptykon - Eparistera Daimones
Celtic Frost - Monotheist

The easy answer would be the Candlemass plus Solitude Aeturnus albums.
To keep it restricted to one album per band:

Candlemass - Epicus, Doomicus, Metallicus
Solitude Aeturnus - Beyond the Crimson Horizon
Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath/Masters of Reality (can't decide right now)
Paradise Lost - Icon
Memento Mori - Rhymes of Lunacy
Cathedral - Carnival Bizarre
Memory Garden - Mirage
Confessor - Condemned
Solstice - New Dark Age
Pentagram - Relentless

From the top of my head. Not my absolute favourite genre but I have some real favourite bands in it...

Confessor - CondemnedHeadbangerOne of the most unique doom metal albums out there. Because of the extremely high pitched vocals Confessor are usually a love them or hate them act though. Its not very often youll come across a technical doom metal album.

Heh! Never had a problem with high pitched vocals myself! (read, I am a huge fan of King Diamond, Sanctuary, Crimson Glory, Toxik, Watchtower etc, etc).

Only other progressive (this tech metal side of things) doom that I can think of is actually Memento Mori. Especially, Life, Death and Other Morbid Tales. Heathendom! There's another awesome metal epic btw!

Any Memento Mori fans?

(how about now? ;) )

I don't listen to much Doom.

My only contributions here will be the two albums I've heard right through.

Argus - Boldly Stride the Doomed (I added these guys to trad, but with further listening I'm wondering if doom might not be the better fit after all)

Draconian - Turning Season Within

Hello! I waited for you to write here. You know why. Coffin Joe.Wink Unfortunately you don't have a funeral doom/black metal or a doom/death metal album in your list. Thank you for your reply.
Inexistence is the true normality.

Most of that list is what we tend to call sludge metal, which is related to doom but not exactly.  Also, it's better than doom metal Headbanger

Here are some of my favorites (I've refrained from ranking them) - as you can see, I have a preference for old school doom metal:

It did say subgenres. Guess I just have a sweet spot for sludge/stoner metal Smile I still think the list is within the topic - Ahh.. maybe I went overboard with High on Fire, and Funeral + Candlemass should have been on the list.

I'd say HoF is closer to doom than Neurosis.  They were actually listed as doom on this site until fairly recently when I moved them

Yep I originally put them in doom because of their stoner tendencies ( stoner goes to doom on MMA), but Im OK with having them in Sludge/ Post.

A sub genre I enjoy but don't know a lot of Embarrassed
but some Doom Metal albums I really love are

EDM by Candlemass
Psalm 9 by Trouble
Shrinebuilder by Shrinebuilder

anything by Asphyx if you'll take doom/death
Oh and of course funeral doom!
Megadeth, Metallica, Slayer and Testament. The real Big Four of thrash metal!

Listen to doom metal, worship Satan
