I am listening to the album Spheres, by Pestilence, and... Well, it's awesome! I want more albums like this, please!

And the usual Atheist and Cynic albums have already been recommended. If you're feeling really adventurous, there's this: The song "Parpaing" features George Fisher from Cannibal Corpse on vocals. There's this, but it's more straight jazz/swing music than anything death metalish:

Although they are more in the brutal tech camp, Spawn of Possession also occasionally have some jazzy touches: http://www.metalmusicarchives.com/artist/spawn-of-possession

I would suggest you check out Atheist, my favourite of theirs being Unquestionable Presence. Cynic is another band worth checking out.

I'm actually making a list of jazzy death metal on RYM. Should be published soon. |

Hi Bruno, not death as such but if you like jazz influences in metal in general, Prehistoricisms by Intronaut is an absolute must. A truly wonderful composition from start to finish.
http://www.metalmusicarchives.com/album/intronaut/prehistoricisms Check out Mike's review too which (if he doesn't mind me saying so) is a perfect summary. I would have reviewed it myself but he has said everything I would say only in a better way than I ever could. |

Star baby, did you deep fry a piece of the Great Barrier Reef?

I've listened to The Directions of Last Things by Intronaut, excellent album! Still need to check Prehistoricisms, tho.

That's a great album too, their second best after Prehistoricisms I'd say.
