I really wanna explore jazz more as my experience is quite limited. The only jazz artists/bands I know of are John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Mccoy Turner, Snarky Puppy, Caravan Palace, and Diablo Swing Orchestra. If any of you guys have recommendations, I'm all ears!

Sorry I´m pretty much a novice in that area too. I usually find jazz grating on my ears (says the man who can fall aslepp peacefully while listening to Napalm Death LOL). I´ve listened to som jazz/rock like Mahavishnu Orchestra, Al Di Meola, Billly Copham and such, but seldom "real" jazz.

Just moved this to general music discussions.

I'm no jazz expert but I have listened to a lot of fusion/jazz rock. For pure jazz you could give Thelonius Monk, Charlie Parker and Jackie Mclean a go. Only discovered the latter a few years back myself and if you like hard bop it's good stuff.

Like metal though there's so many different sub-genres so a good starting point would be to visit our sister site, Jazz Music Archives here...  https://www.jazzmusicarchives.com/

Check out Friday Night in San Francisco.  Three monsters of jazz guitar all shred together.  Its so goddamn good and Im not some super jazz fan either but holy shit.  Paco de Lucia, Al Di Meola & John McLaughlin.
