Hey! Can you please submit Black Moon June" as a new hardrock/metal band? Linktree: Black Moon June is known for its energetic and dynamic music style that combines elements of rock and metal. The band was formed in 2022 - Mathias and Conny was looking for a lead singer and got a tip from a friend to ask Toby to join them. So far, the trio has consisted of these three members, with the help of outside musicians Jon Skäre (drums) and Richie Rich (keyboards). Most of 2023 was spent on writing material and releasing their debut single “The King is Dead”. Several singles has been released during 2024, and Oct 25th will see the release of their debut album, entitled “The Witch Hammer”. The title track “Under A Black Moon Sky (The Witch Hammer”) is based on a true story - the witch trials during the late Middle Ages. Touring is due to start 2025. Toby W is a Swedish singer, living in Stockholm. He is the frontman, lead singer and one of the main songwriters in Black Moon June. He started out as a drummer when he was 10 years old, and switched later on to vocals. He is a trained singer who started with Matti Alfonzetti (ex. Jagged Edge and Skintrade) as his vocal teacher. Toby made his recording debut in 2000, singing on a solo album by Janne Schaffer (ex. guitarist in ABBA) and has ever since kept working with Schaffer. Except being the frontman and lead singer of Black Moon June, Toby has also released a soloalbum and a record (title "Organic") with hard rock band Locomotive. He has also worked with the legendary Electric Banana Band (from a swedish children´s program). Toby´s vocal characteristics are his wide vocal range - the ability to sing in low keys despite being a tenor - and his ability to work with his voice in different ways. Mathias Holm Klarin is a swedish guitarist, living in Hudiksvall. He has a distinguished career in neoclassical heavy metal and shred. He began playing guitar as a teenager and has since developed an impressive technical prowess that has been compared to greats such as Vinnie Moore and Yngwie Malmsteen. Mathias has released several solo albums - including the self-produced “Pictures of a dream” - which gained international spread with distribution in Japan, for example. The japanese magazine “Burrn!!” ranked the album one of the best albums of the month, putting it on a higher spot than Tony Macalpine´s album. Mathias has also played with, and released albums with bands like Subway and MindSplit. Mathias has also contributed to different tribute-albums and other musical projects, which further underlines his versatility as a musician. Conny Payne is a swedish bass player, living in Hudiksvall, with a long and varied career in rock and metal. He is currently the bassplayer of Black Moon June, but has also played a central role in several bands and projects prior. Conny is maybe most famous for his work in the swedish hard rock band Alien, where he was the bass player between 1993 and 2005. Alien got their breakthrough with songs like “Only one woman” and “Tears don´t put out the fire”. He has also played with Madison in the 80´s. In addition to these prominent roles, Conny has been playing in bands such as MindSplit, Naked and Subway, and has been involved in Mathias Holm Klarin´s solo albums. In Black Moon June, Conny continues to explore and develop his musical talent in the rock and metal genres. His technical skill and versatility has cemented his reputation as one of Sweden´s most respected bassists. Thank you in advance! Mathias Holm Klarin Black Moon June |
