Ola England, solo guitarist and member of acts such as The Haunted, has released a video on YouTube explaining how some of his music has been stolen and he is now getting copyright claims made against him for his own work which originate from the Chinese tech conglomerate Tencent.

I thought this ought to be shared when I stumbled upon the video and this is really shitty and any artist can be affected. While Ola has managed to win with YouTube to return his ad revenue to him, he still faces a battle against Spotify, whoever is behind the artist and a massive Chinese corporation.

I'd heard about that but haven't watched the video yet, though I will. But yes, absolutely criminal. Hope he gets the outcome he deserves.

I dont envy the man having to fight Tencent, that is a helluva ask. And I guess it shouldnt come as a surprise that AI might be involved in there as well.

It really is quite absurd just how much hassle it is for people on youtube to work with the measures the site has in place to protect their rights and their content. Almost like the entire infrastructure is meant to only support big companies and not the userbase of the site itself. Disapprove

Þessi undirskrift kemur málinu bara alls ekkert við!
