There is quite a few examples of the harmonica used in proto-metal in the first half of the '70's with the likes of Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Stray, Grand Funk Railroad and Cactus are the ones that come to mind immediatley but after that time period my mind is completely blank. That's nothing new though.
