Satan, the Antichrist and the False Prophet is the alliance of the Unholy Trinity to fight and oppose God The Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, the Christian Trinity. Trinity also means the state or character of being three; a trio. In popular music the "holy trinity of rock" represents The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and The Who on the British side and the three major innovators of rock 'n roll, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddly and Little Richard on the American side. Also trinity represent three albums released by an artist consecutive that are "classics", groundbreaking, genre defining and/or representive, epic, etc. Unholy Trinity is used to represent the metal realm of three consecutive albums.
Your allegience of the Unholy Trinity?

I was gunna do Death since they pretty much made the Death Metal genre but I don't usually hear "Spiritual Healing" considered epic, defining or really even talked about so this will be my unholy trinity!
For their impact on death metal (in another way) Edited by The Angry Scotsman - 21 Jun 2011 at 1:36am |

My unholy trinity:
Iron Maiden are my favorite band of all time, and these three albums, to me, mark the apex of their first golden era (starting with "Number of the Beast" and ending with "No Prayer for the Dying"). Edited by Time Signature - 21 Jun 2011 at 2:23am |

Also you could really pick any 3 of their original 7 albums. Damn, Maiden is so great. Edited by The Angry Scotsman - 21 Jun 2011 at 2:25am |

OK my last one I promise (at least for now)
This is my personal unholy trinity. 3 consecutive albums by one band that have had an untold impact on me personally. (I love others of course, but this is truly their glorious period) |

Plenty of good trinities thus far.
What would Opeth's greatest trinity involve? |
