which of these sludge doom metal songs on Remission do you think is the best, which grabs your joints in the right way, which songs thugs your spine more brutally, which song makes you want to scratch your eyes out, which is the most angst, angry and madness invoked song between this slow beasts which blends beauty with eye socket pulling intensity. I'd have to say Trilobite. That's one of the first songs that hooked me to that album.

Ol'e nessie edges it with its intro which so fantastic, sounds like a submarine sonar melodie,

I voted it in PA too. Because it's the heaviest among the other 2 songs.

where are you metal heads, here have i made the most interesting poll by far and no-one is seemd to pay tis honour, (i try not to be modest), 3 exelent songs which seems to be to be negelected, I know March of the Fire Ants is the most beloved song on Remission but to me these three songs are the highlights on the album three very unique songs in Mastodons catalogue they are unique in their compositions, and rawness, those intro melodies are one of the best instrumentals i have heard in post/sludge,
these sons deservs more attention and respect |

I don't own any Mastodon older than Leviathan. One day I'll get on that and buy Remission.

you can listen to the youtube samples, and judge by them alone, that why I brought them in so that persons who haddent heard the hole album could listen to the songs which were in question, they are in fact sogns that stand strong by them selvs alone.

Remission is probably one of the epitomes within Sludge metal scene, one defining album moment in that genre, but also one who broke some rules and are in many way unconvensual, more hardcore, prog influenced sludge with hints of doom and southern rock
