Currently (as of 12/8/2011) top four black metal albums on this site.  They're all good albums in their own right (I would know, almost all the top black metal albums here have a five star rating from me), but what do you believe is the best?

Dark space I, but it would have been closer if it was up against Ultima Thul�e.

not heard Somberlain, have Storm of the Light's Bane which is a little too melodic for my tastes and never investigated further.

Dark Medieval Times is my preferred Satyricon

I wouldn't call Dissection Black metal but rather King Black Diamond Death metal.
It gets my vote anyway.

Dissection were quite innovative of the melodic black metal style.  At the time, it was pretty fresh.



And I don't really see any similarity to King Diamond.  (the artwork similarities to Abigail doesn't mean jack shit! Tongue)
