Any fans of Zakk Wylde's band Black Label Society hanging around MMA?  I listened to my first album from them this morning, which is their most recent release Order of the Black.  I found it to be quite enjoyable traditional heavy metal.  I did find Zakk Wylde's singing to be quite interesting.   For some reason, his voice reminded me a lot of Chris Cornell but with a heavy dose of Ozzy thrown in.  I am wondering if spending many years as Ozzy's guitarist led to him picking up some of Ozzy's vocal inflections and such.  Does anybody else get this Chris Cornell meets Ozzy feel when listening to BLS?

My brother was a big BLS fan back in high school.  I like the odd song, but overall I'm not really that interested.  I remember his Pride & Glory band/album being pretty cool southern rock.  I can definitely see what you mean by a Cornell/Ozzy mix in his vocals, as i remember his backing vocals in Ozzy's band being a solid Ozzy impression.

saw the band live opening for Judas Priest last November; it was bad, the band played like they did not care, like they did not have their heart into it and during a long godawful solo, me and my friend went for a bite and a beer, it was that bad.

I haven't listened to a lot of them, but what I did hear was mostly snore fest.
