Mendel is a solo project by Dutchman Mendel Bij de Leij who mixes thrash with prog, power and neo-classical. Perhaps this should come under prog metal? Download or stream his album on Bandcamp - http://mendelian.bandcamp.com/ . This one is good!
Canadian band Highest Place play a kind of progressive thrash metal http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=7331. Their album Dilemmas is excellent. You can preview on CD Baby - http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/highestplace2
