Yes, I do! I recently reactivated my account, and now post there relatively often.

I dont have it and Im afraid if I did, Id waste even more of my time on the internet than I already doTongue. Besides that Im not interested in getting contacted by people from by past that Im not currently socializing with. There are usually reasons why I dont have contact with them anymore. I wont rule out the possibility that Id create an account sometime on the future if my situation change, but right now NO!!!.

Got it, it's a great way to keep in contact with friends and family as I'm not really a phone person.

I have it. I use it in relation to my teaching (might as well take advantage of the fact that all my students use Facebook).

I also maintain contact with some old friends on FB, too. Like UMUR, there's a bunch of people from my past that I'd prefer stay in the past; fortunately, only few of those have contacted me, and then I've just ignored them.

I understand what you mean about the people in your past. This is why I go by my married name and not my maiden name, which is the one people in Italy know me by, and have no pictures of myself (my avatar is a cat).

I rarely use images of myself as avatars (right now it's part of the Soylent Green movie poster), but I do go by my own name.

It's not like there are any people from the past who are out to get me or something like that (not that I know off). It's just that there are some people that I didn't like back then withi whom I see no reason to maintain any form of contact, and some people whom I was betrayed by and whom I don't feel like wasting any more time and energy on. I'm perhaps a bit strict in terms of this, but to me, what belongs in the past stays in the past. I'd much rather focus on the present and the future than waste my time on the past.

In terms of teaching, I've used FB to establish groups pertaining to student projects, courses, etc. where I can interact electronically with the students in a much more efficient way than via e-mails. At least, that's something the students appreciate a lot.

I also use FB as a way of communicating with fellow band- and music project members, whom I do not see frequently.

I do have an account for the Book of Faces, but I find it largely useless.

I have some good uses for Facebook, especially since I have many friends from thousands of miles away. Not to mention, my graduating high school class is heading of to college around this time of year so we're all going to be able to check up on each other.

You have to be careful what you post though. Employers look at what you put on there (or what others put on there Confused), and I've already made a few inappropriate comments that my old principal found. That being said, I think a lot of people say they don't need one and then once they start it they find it useful.
Lost respect for these archives when I saw Creed added, among other bands. Not going to be foruming here anymore. You can keep my reviews if you want.

Well that's what the privacy settings and friend lists are there for. :D

While in no way ashamed of who I am and what I like, I'd rather not have current or potential employers associate me with Bondage Goat Zombie. The fake name helps with that, too. :)

Yes but on Privacy of course. Have not been on for a while though. It is great for swappimg photos and these days party invites etc seem to come via facebbok. I am under my own name not an alias. I am not worried about employers or anybody snopping...........They can be bored to death if they choose. Not a lot on it, Smile

Then you should add me! I spend a lot of time there, now that I am more often at home and have given up most forums. I am there with my real name too, which is also my reviewer name.

Yup. Got it back when it was only for college students, then in like a month it was opened to all.
The older people are fine of course, its all the young high school kids that ruined it LOL

Don't use it as much as I used to. Also don't make thoughtful statuses as much. Usually just song lyrics or something silly.

But, if anyone wants to here I am:
