1995 is probably my first really good year for music. Plenty of favourites from before hand but this is the first time I have several 5 star albums in the same year.

Voted for Blind Guardian, my favourite band and their best album, IMO. I've also heard the Death, Symphony X and Iron Maiden albums.

Others not on the poll:

5 stars for me:

Ayreon - The Final Experiment
Gamma Ray - Land of the Free
Iced Earth - Burnt Offerings
Wongraven - Fjelltronen (not metal but related)

4.5 stars for me:

Cruachan - Tuatha na Gael
Die Verbannten Kinder Evas - Die Verbannten Kinder Evas (also not metal but related)
Grave Digger - Heart of Darkness
Immortal - Battles in the North
Opeth - Orchid
Running Wild - Masquerade
Virgin Steele - The Marriage of Heaven and Hell Part Two

Symbolic for me, but the Blind Guardian album is my favorite by them, so it could have been that one too. Not many other albums on the list, which really makes my blood boil (although there are some good albums on the list).

Blind Guardian for me, because it's my personal favorite by them. There's a bunch of really good albums from 1995, though.

Death get my vote but also enjoy Paradise Lost, The Gathering and Symphony X. There's half a dozen I've never heard there too.

Not on the list that I rate.......

At The Gates - Slaughter of the Soul
The Widhearts - P.H.U.Q.
U.F.O. - Walk On Water

The Death album is their best and a personal favourite. But two Symbolic's doesn't equal one Imaginations from the Other Side. Voted Blind Guardian.

the famous albums always win the poll LOL

no underdogs to win/get votes (in)  this poll

should I even put less known/less famous albums in the polls? Geek

forgot about Nightingale's debut and neglected Veni Domine which by 1995 had released two albums.

It's a very difficult choice between Death, BG and Gamma Ray (that's a glaring omission! FOR SHAME! :P )

I've played the fuck out of all 3 of those. And still do. I think I will give it to Gamma Ray actually because at the time listening to Kai Hansen singing again and releasing an album as good as any of the best Helloween albums (the rightful Keeper III actually in my mind) was a very moving experience.

I haven't listened to Gamma Ray in a very long time, that's why they were omitted
maybe I need to change that.

Yes you do, one of my favorite power metal bands. I recommend getting re-acquainted with them through 'Land of the Free'.
