Warrel Dane dead at 56

One of my personal favorite singers. I was still hoping that Loomis would leave the awful Arch Enemy and reunite with Warrel in Nevermore. That´ll never happen now, and it´s such a sad day.

 

Warrel was a crazy good singer. Not only his technique was on a high level, but he had an instantly recognisable voice, and he was one of the rare singers, who understood how to change his high pitched vocal style towards a lower register vocal style with success. Without losing power and vitality.

 

Anyone who hasn´t checked out Sanctuary or Nevermore, I can highly recommend starting from an end. There´s not a single bad release in the Whole discography (a couple of less interesting ones, like Warrels solo project, but no bad ones), and there are even a couple of masterpieces there too.
