My personal preference would be Black Sabbath but I�ve voted for Led Zeppelin. They are the ultimate hard rock band to my ears.

Damn that's a toughie. I think I'll go with Zeppelin. I've got "Burn" running through my head now, and that song rocks hard so that I was tempted to go Deep Purple.
Yes, I'd say those artists are definitely Gods of Rock of the late 60s/early 70s.
