I've noticed that MMA doesn't have stoner metal as a sub-genre. Some of the artists I see are included in the doom sub-genre, like Kyuss, Electric Wizard and Monster Magnet but no Queens Of The Stone Age. Then there is Earthless and the Melvins in the sludge/post metal sub-genre.
From what I've read and artists I've heard under the title stoner metal(rock) it include many different combinations of styles like heavy psych, space rock, hard rock, jam, blues-rock, alternative metal, doom, and sludge. I guess this is probably the reason why stoner metal isn't a sub-genre here as it encompasses such a large array, over lap and cross over of sub-genres.
I'm not trying to create trouble and an arguement of sub-genres. Just curious. I promise to leave at that.
Maybe I answered my own question.

Yep, there's already enough crossover between doom and sludge and even traditional that adding stoner metal, which would displace a large quantity of bands in those three subgenres, would be very complicated at best.
