I love all of what Mastodon have done all songs on the main 4 releases, and they all have songs which are top notch like March of the Fire Ants, Trilobite, Hearts Alive, Iron Tusk, Oblivion, Ghost of Karelia, the Czar and many many many more, but they have yet to my opinion never made a song so full of quality and overal eargrasping perfection that is Sleeping Giant, that song have all of which makes a good metal, progressive, experimental, classic rock  it have tha lead guitar line by BIll Kelliher is just sublime one of the greates single guitar lines in metal and music in general (I images sea birds, like gulls singing in a very bright sunny day, or a group of sirens youling their hypnotizing calls,

to me Sleeping Giant is the masterpiece Mastodon should be proud of and I hope their is songs on the new album which will happend to have found the same magic and spiritual energy which was happining while they created the Sleeping Giant

Really not sure about that, Mastodon has lots of great songs. This one is pretty awesome though.

Hard for me to say.  I view albums as career peaks as opposed to individual songs.

This.
Yes.

It's definitely one of my favourite Mastodon songs, though.

Seeing as "Sleeping Giant" isn't my number one favorite Mastodon song (already occupied by "Hearts Alive"), I have to choose no.

I liked it better the second time around when they called it "Ghost of Karelia", personally. Tongue
Lost respect for these archives when I saw Creed added, among other bands. Not going to be foruming here anymore. You can keep my reviews if you want.
