I guess this is why VH1 called it National Metal Day. LOL

Oh and "first studio album in 33 years"?? I know what they mean, and they're trying to make the announcement even more epic-sounding, but it's a bit of a slap in the face to Dio and the other lineups.

Also, it's interesting that Rubin is producing it.  He was going to produce "No More Tears" and wanted to make it a Sabbath-sounding album.

No smoke without fire eh Tony? LOL

So much for the journalist in Birmingham getting it wrong earlier this year.

This is immense. To hear once again (and maybe for the last time) the classic cuts that forged a genre of music I have loved for nearly 40 years, played by the guys that started it all.

I was privileged to see them back in the day and I cannot wait to see them once again.

Now my first job each day is to check for the world tour dates so I get the best tickets in the house when they are released.

WOOT!!!                 \m/

I'm not surprised. The hints have been there for quite some time.

I am curious to see if they will write songs that will recall their glory days or if it will sound more contemporary. I would hope Rubin can achieve the right sound for the album. Hopefully, someone can pull one last legendary performance out of Ozzy in the studio. I wouldn't worry too much whether he could do it on tour... he hasn't been able to for the better part of the last decade and a half. More than anything, the tour will be a nostalgic wave goodbye to the long-time fans. I would hope that Bill is healthy enough to handle a tour, long or not. I guess he must or he wouldn't commit to a tour.

The next year should prove interesting for all the Sabbath fans...

Saw them live in 2005 and it was pretty mindblowing, even if Bill is somewhat tired nowadays. I'm finding myself having high hopes about the album as well, Tony still has some riffs in him, and Rubin usually aims at an organic sound, which is a must for the original Sabs.

But there's a strong possibility it will all be fucked up in the mastering stage. He has that history as well.

-1000 pts. for Tupan.

Tommy Iommi? Is Tony's little brother now in charge of production or something?

For shame.... misspelling a metal legends' name.

To be honest, I'd rather that the Heaven and Hell project carried on with another vocalist. But let's see if anything comes out of this reunion.

It would be something to fantasize about with H & H carrying on the torch with the likes of Jorn Lande, Russell Allen, or thinking a little farther out of the box... perhaps an urban breed or Jon Oliva.

On one hand the thought of a full reunion excites the fanboy in me, on the other hand... Ozzy is soooooo far past his prime, the spectre of watching a train wreck slowly unfolding terrifies that same little fanboy....

Head on wall    no more comments, please...Ouch

BUT, I think mister FRANCIS ANTHONY MELBY IOMMI, the creator of doom metal, will not allow a noisy production.

At least now the sentence 'Black Sabbath's final album was Forbidden' will no-longer be true.
