These guys were definitely part of the Headbanger's Ball crowd back in the day. They're a great band and I think deserve a place here.
Not sure where though.

Agreed. They definitely belong here. Probably traditional metal is the best bet.

I'd welcome them here easily. Great band, possibly alternative metal.

Alternative metal for me. They would look weird in traditional metal.

I'd say Alt Metal too - together with bands like Living Colour and Faith No More. Not that King's X sound like either of them, but there is definitely some connection to their sound.

They have been eventually mentioned (even suggested in another site I know about) but they were evaluated and rejected. Now if MMA's prog-metal team wants to also consider the option, that would be a possibility

I say prog-metal. Not the "proggiest" band in the world, but they would be a good fit, especially since we can individually tag albums here.

Interestingly, Poundhound is listed here as Progressive Metal. Any thoughts on whether Dug Pinnick should be also listed as a solo artist?

I'd say Proto-Metal or Progressive Metal they have many facits to their brand of "Metal".
HUGE Fan I am and its cool to see them getting positive reviews here at MMA! |
