What all have you heard this year that's came out this year (so no old music that you got into now) and what did you think of it ?
For Me:
Accept - Stalingrad (Heavy Metal) Architects - Daybreaker (Metalcore) Biohazard - Reborn In Defiance (Rap/Crossover/Groove) Back Moth - The Killing Jar (Stoner/Doom) Corrosion Of Conformity - S/T (Doom/Stoner/Crossover) Kreator - Phantom Antichrist (Thrash) Jethro Tullish - Thick As A Brick 2 (Prog) Lamb Of God - Resolution (Metalcore/Groove) Marilyn Manson - Born Villain Mars Volta - Noctourniquet (Prog) Napalm Death - Utilitarian (Death/Grind) Shadows Fall - Fire From he Sky (Metalcore) Soulfly - Enslaved (Thrash/Metalcore) This is all of what I've heard from 2012. I liked it all. |

I�ve only listened to these 2012 releases so far (still trying to close my late 2011): Hail Spirit Noir - Pneuma Omega Centauri - Universum Infinitum Mondrian Oak - Aeon Napalm Death - Utilitarian Meshuggah - Koloss Loincloth - Iron Balls of Steel Terrorizer - Hordes of Zombies Canaan - Of Prisoners, wandering souls and cruel fears 16 - Deep Cuts From Dark Clouds Asphyx - Deathhammer General Surgery - A Collection of Depravation Spawn of Possession - Incurso Agruss - Morok Death - Vivus! Liberteer - Better to Die on Your Feet Than Live on Your Knees Marching Mind - The Sickness And The Theory You�ll have to wait for my reviews to read my opinion about the albums though

Beyond the Bridge - The Old Man & The Spirit (LOVE) Suspyre - Suspyre (LOVE) Circus Maximus - Nine (LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE) Sonata Arctica - When Stones Grow Her Name (Love - more respect to that band than ever IMO) Affector - Harmagedon (LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE) Flying Colors (um...sad face to that one) Hemina - Synthetic (haven't quite decided what I think) Dreamscape - Everlight (there are songs I really like and others I'm kinda meh about) Status Minor - Ouroboros (kind of the same as above - a couple songs that blew me away) Xandria - Neverworld's End (pretty darn cool) Juggernaut - All Too Human (definitely like, not quite up to love...yet) Fringe Kitchen - Unwritten Pages (I think I might love this one...not sure yet) Pretty good year so far for Progressive Metal, I'll say. |

You all laughed at me when I made an Excel spreadsheet to keep track of my 2012 listens, but who's laughing now?!
 
Those are the metal albums which I've listened to enough to give a rating to (and they copied over quite nicely!). As for the ones I haven't...that would probably take up a whole page. If all goes well, I'll have a much bigger and better end-of-year list than I did for 2011, and hopefully I'll share the sentiments of my fellow collabs on more albums than I did last year.
