nice band, I have to listen some more. I would not call this band traditional heavy metal, the guitar riffs and sound/tone sounds quite modern. Or is it that I'm an old fart (apparently anyone over 35 is one in the rock/metal forums )

You're right, the album these are from is not traditional heavy metal but power metal. I misidentified it when I posted this six years ago. What can I say? I've learned a lot about the difference between the two genres in that time. However it's not power metal because it sounds modern. You can have modern sounding traditional heavy metal, including some of this band's other albums. Genres evolve. But this is why some of us here don't like that the MMA sub is called 'Traditional heavy metal'. It should really just be 'Heavy Metal'.

But since this topic has been revived, this band has to now be posted. #2 in MMA's Best Albums of 2017: Lovebites. All female Japanese power metal.

This thread (I've not been through all pages so apologies if this is a duplicate) got me reminiscing. BBC Radio's Friday Rock Show had Tommy Vance playing this young lady regularly. It's very 1980s but the girl does have a fair set of lungs on her. She's a jazz singer now, I think.

Lee Aaron was quite good, much better than the famous Lita Ford if you ask me.

I'm trying to post a video and it's just not working right.
Anyway, a cool hard rock band, all female, I discovered is Thundermother. They have an Ac/DC vibe. Very good singer. Check them out. :)

Make sure you take the s out of the https part of the video URL. The forum software will only recognise http addresses correctly. or just use the BBcode manually: [TUBE][/TUBE] For a YouTube address add the part of the URL after the 'watch?v=' part between the tags. Ignore the rest of the URL.

^ I'll see about getting them added to MMA this week. Sounds like they should definitely be here.

This thread has a pretty dumb title, but I guess it being re-awoken gives me an excuse to share this extremely underrated thrash and later doom metal band:

^ nice, I will have to listen some more.
Anyone here likes/liked Vixen? Beyond their hair metal success, they did two more albums, nothing to do with their early sound, quite good.

^They've got some decent stuff, particularly on Tangerine. I'd take Lita Ford over them any day though as far as hair metal musicians go. Out for Blood is a masterpiece.
Here's Sacrilege's doom metal side: |

Not metal, but The Runaways rocked in the late 70s.
