 One of the premier bands of the American progressive metal movement is back! FATES WARNING will enter the studio in April to begin recording its new studio album � its first collection of new material in nine years, and its debut release for InsideOut Music. The band's 11th studio CD is set for a fall release and will feature founding guitarist Jim Matheos alongside classic lineup members Ray Alder (vocals) and Frank Aresti (guitar), longtime bassist Joey Vera and drummer Bobby Jarzombek. FATES WARNING will embark on a U.S. tour in November. The trek will launch November 15 in Joliet, Illinois and wrap December 14 in Seattle, Washington. Tickets will be available for purchase starting March 27. Multi-camera fan-filmed video footage of the performance can be seen below. The "Parallels" lineup of FATES WARNING played a number of shows in 2010 in support of the released special edition of the album, which was made available through Metal Blade Records. In addition to remastered audio, there is a second audio disc of live and demo material. The package also includes a DVD with nearly three hours of material, including a complete live show from the 1992 "Parallels" tour and a documentary on the making of "Parallels" which includes live, studio, and current day interview footage with all the band members, Terry Brown (producer) and Brian Slagel (CEO of Metal Blade Records). FATES WARNING's latest CD, "X", was released in 2004 on Metal Blade Records. The follow-up to 2000's "Disconnected" was recorded at Carriage House studios in Stamford, Connecticut and features cover artwork by renowned record-cover artist Ioannis (DREAM THEATER, SEPULTURA, DEEP PURPLE, BLUE �YSTER CULT, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, KING CRIMSON, BIOHAZARD, VOIVOD, UFO, OVERKILL). |

VERY excited... hopefully I'll have enough funds to catch them live too! It's pretty damn cool to experience them releasing a new album - unless you count Arch/Matheos as a FW release, I wasn't aware of them when their last album dropped. Very awesome!

Star date: 5/14/2013... Just an update.. After five days of recording here in New Hampshire I've finished six songs so far... SO much work, but I've enjoyed every second of it! ( Well, almost every second...) I cannot tell you how incredibly psyched I am for this new Fates album... Every song seems to get better than the last. Also, European tour dates will be coming soon.. I've never been to Israel before.. Hmmm... Going home to L.A. tomorrow, it'll be good to rest the voice and see my friends.. Next round of recording coming very soon.. Until then, peace... Kirk out. European dates??? Excited much!!? |
