You must be pretty excited for this, Jonas! I've been getting into Atheist a little bit lately myself, and I can't wait to hear what they sound like 17 years after Elements!

I'm very excited about this, too. I'm sure that, whatever they end up releasing, it's going to be good.

Im more than excited Jeff. I never thought I was going to hear new recordings from Atheist again. They are among my favorite acts. Probably in top 5.

I hope Atheist can deliver the goods. I remember earlier on in the reunion that Kelly said they wouldn't do another album unless they felt it could stand up with their other work. That gives me some hope.

Either this will be the disappointment of the century or it will be another groundbreaking milestone technical/ progressive death/ thrash metal release.

Very true, Jonas. Of the two other most famous jazz/metal acts of the early 90's, the results are 50/50. Pestilence's reunion album was awful, but Cynic's was great! I'm hoping for the best! The only thing that concerns me is Jason Suecof... his production wouldn't fit Atheist's music IMO. |

He's best known for producing (and helping out with) some Trivium albums. He's produced a bunch of other stuff as well (mostly in the metalcore/hardcore scene). His productions are usually pretty good, but I honestly don't think it will fit the tech jazz/death of Atheist unless he completely reinvents himself. He has a pretty big legacy to live up to, considering the stellar productions of other Atheist albums. Here's his wikipedia article if you're curious: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jason_Suecof |

Freaking awesome, hopefully it'll be as successful as Cynic's comeback.

Aaaaaaah Unquestionable Presence is the best man. Atheist clearly influenced a lot of bands with that album, you can hear the influence almost everywhere in the technical world of metal. |
