Two albums with a hefty influence on modern black metal, both taking hefty influence from shoegaze. Which is your favorite?

I've never quite gotten Weakling's appeal. They're pretty decent, but not as good as some people try to say they are.

I have mixed feelings on them as well, although I've not listened to Dead as Dreams all the way through.

I haven´t heard either, but aren´t part of Weakling´s appeal that they are a very influential act? Influential doesn´t always equal great, and sometimes those influenced end up being much greater than those who they are influenced by. It´s just a general observation. So Weakling fans don´t kill me .
