LOCUSTA: Technical Grinding Death Metal Perpetrators Unleash New Tune; Live Incursions To Begin This Evening
In celebration of their first tour in over two years, Ohio technical grinding death metal assassins, LOCUSTA, spew forth a seething taste of their forthcoming new full-length with "Contaminant Remains." A faultless balance a methodical, Schuldinerian riff sequences and scalding vocal oscillations, the tune is at once haunting, cerebral and wholly engrossing.

LOCUSTA's long-awaited bout of live abrasions commences today in Raleigh, North Carolina with Warhead. From there, the band will raze the East Coast, leveling stages in a dozen metropolises alongside a host of noteworthy ear-bruisers including Ulcerate, Earthling and Eyehategod on select dates, with additional infiltrations to be declared in the coming weeks. The band will be joined by drummer Alex Tomlin (Battlemaster, Arsis, Withered et al).
LOCUSTA Live Incursions 2014:
LOCUSTA's as-yet-untitled long player is tentatively scheduled to drop later this year. "Contaminant Remains" will appear on the band's four-track Dendromorphosis EP which also includes a smoldering rendering of Death's "See Through Dreams," and artwork by renowned designer Lucas Ruggieri (BlackTusk, Kylesa, Ghoul, cough et al). Dendromorphosis will be available for purchase at all upcoming tour dates.
Formed in the fall of 2006, LOCUSTA take their name from a female chemist from Ancient Rome regarded as the first documented serial killer. LOCUSTA released their debut full-length upon an unsuspecting underground in 2010 which is available for download/purchase via their official BandCamp page HERE.
"I got dinner at the bar while LOCUSTA played their set. Melodic, technical death metal in the vein of Spawn Of Possession or Decrepit Birth, the band brought the riffage with a vengeance. Health notice: The surgeon general has advised that discreetly headbanging with a mouthful of food is a choking hazard. But totally worth it." - NoCleanSinging.com
"LOCUSTA is one of the best underground metal bands out there right now; seriously one of the highest underground-to-quality-music ratios possible...Totally real-deal, bad-ass performers, worth the money and time spent x1000." - Day After Day DC

NIGHTFELL: Debut LP From Portland Duo Out Now On Southern Lord & Parasitic Band Unites Aldebaran/Mournful Congregation & His Hero Is Gone/Tragedy Members
The Living Ever Mourn, the debut recordings from Portland-based grim metal duo, NIGHTFELL, is out now, as a combined release between Southern Lord Recordings and Parasitic Records.
Embodied by members Tim Call (Aldebaran, Mournful Congregation, Parasitic Records) and Todd Burdette (His Hero Is Gone, Tragedy, Deathreat, Severed Head Of State), the NIGHFELL collective's bruising tones and bleak perspectives on life are captured through over forty minutes of thundering epic metal bridging morose heaviness with melodic destruction on The Living Ever Mourn. Recorded and mixed at Red Lantern Studios by Evan 'Maus' Mersky, and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege, The Living Ever Mourn was envisioned and executed in a period of grief, delirium and loss of life, the atmosphere and lyrics mirror the ensuing emptiness while simultaneously embracing the dichotomous power in the unwavering and eternal force of Death. At times the album embodies the guttural, bleak essence Burdette's musical endeavors have innovated since the mid-90s, while other segments undoubtedly breathe with the murky, crushing, Northwestern oppression Call has been associated with, the entire album channeling unrest through its organic delivery, at times integrating choral mantras, noise-infused ambiance and thundering death marches.
The entire The Living Ever Mourn is now playing AT THIS LOCATION.
The Living Ever Mourn is out now worldwide on CD and via digital download through Southern Lord, available HERE. The vinyl version will be released late this Summer, co-released by Southern Lord and Parasitic; a confirmed street date for the LP will be announced in the coming weeks.
