List some songs by non-metal bands that rock hard.
I'm guessing this has been done before, but to hell with it. New music comes out every day anyway.

Well, IQ certainly has metal songs. Like 'Knucklehead' and a good amount of other songs on 'Road of Bones'.
I can't think of any others at the moment.

Since many a idiots don't consider Rush a metal band then I guess their songs like 2112 and The Necromancer would fit this
------------- "Before you see the light you must die!!!!!!!!!!" - Slayer
"Today is born the seventh one, born of woman, the seventh son" - Steve Harris

Hard rock I suppose is counted, only if they have an actual metal song that they play.

Yeah I know, Rush is especially heavy. But if you're thinking of a METAL song, then you need a heavy metal song. That's all I'm saying.

Almost the entire Vapor Trails album, Cygnus X-1, Headlong Flight, Far Cry, Malignant Narcissism, Something for Nothing, Time and Motion and probably more I'm missing

Check out a great rock record by Magnum's singer Bob Catley entitled "When Empires Burn" it's more of his heavy side of music outside of his day job

I guess a lot of stuff by John Zorn could fill this thread! I'm also thinking about some electro/industrial acts or some hip-hop/rap artists who must have integrated metal parts in their repertoire.

I've always thought the main riff in this song is pretty metal:

"Lentil Nightmare" by Neil from the Young Ones, with the "Neil the Barbarian" intro.
I'm not a big Floyd fan, but there's no way to deny this is heavy as fuck!
A bit obvious, but the distorted guitar is good.
Don't know what else these guys ever did, but this song is killer!
The intro to this. I remember seeing Dire Straits live as a 13 year old, and that guitar crunch was the heaviest thing I'd ever heard.
And ignore classical music at your own peril. This one has the added bonus of a JMW Turner montage.
Mars, Bringer of War is fairly well known to Nile fans as Ramses, Bringer of War
Hall of the Mountain King
And Metallica know a bit of good heavy stuff when they hear it.
And let's finish with a bit of Vangelis and some rugby. The Crusaders are my local team, the all time most successful team in the Super Rugby competition.
