...Or vocalists from any bands in the MMA MR sub-genres.
Post your favourite vocalists here, with samples please. No limit on how many you want to post.
My list in no order, but ladies first:
Female vocalists:
Sharon den Adel (Within Temptation)
Simone Simons (Epica)
Floor Jansen (ReVamp, Nightwish, After Forever)
Her performance on the latest Nightwish isn't her best IMO though.
Jill Janus (Huntress)
Nehl Aëlin (Akphaezya)
Kobra Paige (Kobra and the Lotus)
Nina Osegueda (A Sound of Thunder)
Ann Marie Nacchio (MorningStarlett)
Jennie-Ann Smith (Avatarium)
Male vocalists:
Hansi Kürsch (Blind Guardian, Demons & Wizards)
Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden)
Rob Halford (Judas Priest)
Michael Seifert (Rebellion, Wolfchant)
Nils Patrik Johansson (Wuthering Heights)
Can sound very like the late great Ronnie James Dio at times, but at others nothing like him.
Andi Deris (Helloween)
I know people tend to prefer Kiske, who is great too, but Deris seems to suit my tastes better.
Jo Amore (Nightmare)
Patrick Loisel (Augury)
I don't usually include death metal vocalists in lists like this but I like his clean singing style and his growl is pretty powerful too, so I made an exception.

Hmmm... Toby Driver of Kayo Dot is an amazing vocalist in addition to being an amazing musician in general. Also, Mikael Akerfeldt (duh!).
Travis Ryan of Cattle Decapitation is one of my favourite death metal vocalists, absolutely amazing. Also, I loved Lord Worm vocals in Cryptopsy, especially in Once was Not (terribly unappreciated album imo). Primordial's vocalist rocks too. Mister Curse of A Forest of Stars is also a unique vocalist and one of my favs.
And Scott Kelly/Steve von Till of Neurosis, obviously!

There are so many vocalists that I love but here are a few of my favorites:
Torben Askholm (Prophets of Doom, Anubis Gate)
Joey Belladonna (Anthrax)
Maynard James Keenan (Tool, A Perfect Circle, Puscifer)
Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden)
James Rivera (Helstar)
I'll probably add more later.

First off, I agree with many of Adam's. Because I have so many favorites, I decided to split mine into two posts. I started with a few male vocalists before I realized it was taking forever, so here's a bunch of my favorite male vocalists for now, and then later on I'll post some female vocalists, which should be at least an equally big post, if not bigger. And obviously, both lists will just be scratching the surface, because I have way more favorites than I could ever possibly list in a reasonable amount of time or space.
Russell Allen (Symphony X)
Burton C. Bell (Fear Factory)
(Mostly because they were my favorite band when I was younger and he was the first vocalist to get me into the whole idea of mixing clean vocals and growls together. I do still occasionally listen to their music, but not as often as I used to.)
Mathias Blad (Falconer)
Christopher Bowes (Alestorm)
(I know some would say that's an odd choice because he technically isn't a very good singer at all, but the thing is when I listen to other pirate themed bands, including even the best works of Running Wild, I can't quite feel it just because the vocals sound like typical metal vocals, where Christopher is the only guy I've heard who can do a pirate impersonation while singing metal without it sounding irritating, so for that alone he stands out in my mind as one of my all time favorites.)
Joakim Bróden (Sabaton)
Attila Dorn (Powerwolf)
Tom S. Englund (Evergrey)
Tony Kakko (Sonata Arctica)
Tommy Karevik (Seventh Wonder, Kamelot)
(I like him with Kamelot as well, but he definitely sounds more distinct with Seventh Wonder.)
Roy Khan (Kamelot)
(Not his best work, but I prefer to only use official videos.)
Timo Kotipelto (Stratovarius, Cain's Offering)
Tobias Sammet (Edguy, Avantasia)
Ralf Scheepers (Primal Fear, ex-Gamma Ray)
Niilo Sevänen (Insomnium)
(Probably my favorite death metal vocalist right now.)
Michael Kiske (ex-Helloween, Unisonic)
(Had to break my own protocol here, just because his work with Helloween will never be matched, even though he still sounds great today.)
Mikael Holst (Timeless Miracle)
(Another exception, because they don't have official videos, and this is one of my all time favorite power metal songs, from my all time favorite power metal album.)

Already seen a few mentioned that I didn't list (to stop it from being too long in most cases):
Mathias Blad (some of the most pure sounding male vocals in metal)
Tommy Karevik
Roy Khan
Mikael Åkerfeldt
Michael Kiske
Russell Allen

I was also tempted to include him as at least an honorary mention for the same reasons.
Here's one I didn't list but should have done:
Matt Barlow (ex-Iced Earth, ex-Pyramaze, Ashes of Ares)

^I second Phil and Denis too. Phil used to be a great singer, who could do both the melodic and the more gruff styles with conviction. Sadly he lost the clean/melodic voice years ago.
Snake isn´t as such a skilled vocalist, but somehow his punked delivery just Works perfect within the odd Voivod universe.

^Yeah, Phil's vocals are really amazing, especially on the Cowboys From Hell album. Snake's vocals do fit perfectly with Voivod's punk-infused thrash style.
More favorites:
Layne Staley (Alice in Chains)
Chris Cornell (Soundgarden)
Kobra Paige (Kobra and the Lotus)
Rob Halford (Judas Priest)

Bon Scott (AC/DC)

Glenn Hughes with Black Country Communion.

Great combination of death vocals and clean vocals.
Roy Khan (Kamelot):
Can't believe I forgot Roy Khan previously.

I used to listen to Godsmack quite a bit. I should really revisit the albums I have theirs in full sometime. Just stuck I Stand Alone on for old times sake and despite changing tastes over the years I still like this a lot. Sully is great. He always kinda reminded my Dad and I of James Hetfield.

Without bothering to check the previous answers, my favorites as they come to mind while I await for a phone call at work...
Robert Lowe - Solitude Aeturnus, Candlemass etc. One of the best voices in the history of metal. Golden. Probably my #1 most of the times.
The King. Up to 1994 but with emphasis in the 82-90 years. Unmatched.
James Hetfield - that guy, yeah.
Dave Mustaine - fuck the naysayers about his vocals. His performance and his style, his sarcasm and all are elements that make up one of the best metal performers ever. In the studio. Up to the System has Failed. But who cares?
Tom Araya - first five Slayer.
Mike Muir - Suicidal Tendencies. If you get Cyco Miko, you understand.
Hansi Kursch - Blind Guardian (especially during the Somewhere Far Beyond to Nightfall In Middle - Earth era)
kai Hansen (esp. on Walls of Jericho! Yeah, I know...)
Jon Oliva - Savatage, see Hall of the Mountain King.
Midnight - Crimson Glory, Lost Reflection and the whole of Transcedence.
Russ Anderson - Forbidden - god.
Charles Rytkonen - Morgana Lefay, one of a kind, huge fan of his vocals.
Eric AK - Flotsam and Jetsam - god II
Keith Deen - Holy Terror - god III
Buddy Lackey (I don't know anyone called Devon Graves!!) - first two Psychotic Waltz albums are some of the sickest vocals ever. LITTLE PEOPLE!
Warrel Dane. In his good years before he shot his voice.
Michael Olivieri - Leatherwolf, such a voice.
Tom Mallicoat - Lethal (Programmed era)
John Stewart - Slauter Xstroyes. Another god.
Harry the Tyrant Conklin: Jag Panzer, Titan Force, Satan's Host. Probably the most gifted throat in metal.
Sebastian Bach - Skid Row, esp. his performance on Slave to the Grind. LIVIN' ON A CHAINGANG intro, when Seb SCREAMS I am happy.
Mario Prunster from Mayfair - esp. on the EP and debut. And demos.
He and Mayfair are so obscure they gets a youtube reference. Buddy Lackey fans check.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vIi11T5W-8
Devin Townsend - esp. on City. Holy shit.
Of course no person in his right mind does not worship the vocals of Ronnie Dio and Rob Halford. I am a sane person as well.
Extreme vocals:
Mille of Kreator, epecially on Pleasure to Kill
Chuck from Death, in all his versions except for his style on the sound of perseverance.
Karl Willets of Bolt Thrower
John "Death Breath" Tardy, esp. on the first two Obituary albums.
Sargent Salsten of Deathhammer. Crazy motherfucker.
Dave Vincent on the first four Morbid Angel albums.
Jeff Walker - Carcass
Pat Lind - Morbid Saint (SPECTRUM OF DEATH)
David DiSanto - Vektor. Thank god for Vektor and thank god for DiSanto.
Outside pure metal I'll say Freddie Mercury (the god of vocals) and Mike Patton
