Now it's here and we've probably all heard it. So how is it?

I'm perhaps some seven listens in at the moment, and it's starting to sink in that this might be one of their very best albums. A couple of songs are not hitting the spot quite as the others (River, Glory, Valley at least), but most of it is quite brilliant. At the moment my favourite would be the title track, but it might change I think.

As of now, Speed of Light is probably my favorite. It's the most memorable track for me.

I listen in chunks as it´s such a long album, and I´ve therefore only really formed an opinion on the first four tracks, of which it´s only Speed of Light, which has made a really positive impression yet. If Eternity Should Fail has it´s moments too, but quite frankly I found both The Great Unknown and The Red and the Black a Little overlong and boring. The former has too much high end vocals (which somehow annoy my ears), and not enough breathers where there aren´t vocals (the vocal melodies aren´t that strong either), and the latter features some very generic and unremarkable riffing and no memorable vocal lines. ´

I´m not so sure I´m gonna end up liking this as much as a lot of other people seem to be liking it, but of course my opinion might change when I´ve had a chance to listen to the full album.

Empire of the Clouds is my favourite.

I know it's still early days with the album but I really think this is the best since Brave New World, and maybe even goes one better.

I can't really pick a favorite track off that album. They're all great. It's a great album overall.

I just brought it home last night and got it into my iphone. I won't have a chance to listen to it until I head back to work Tuesday morning. And then I expect I'll need a few listens.

Too early to tell for me, though some great stuff on here. I'm only on my second listen but will no doubt form a stronger opinion soon.

I'm listening to the first disc for the second time. Haven't listened to the second one yet, but I wanna try and give the whole thing a listen in one sitting.

Empire of the Clouds for me. I've always wondered what a near-20 minute epic from Maiden would sound like, and now I know -- fucking great! Beer

I've listened to the whole album three times. I'm finding that the entire album is excellent. Maybe a few on disc two take a little more time to sink but i think it's more due to my attention drifting than that's its bad! Too early for favorite track if there is one

the fact that this album is their first double album, and Their longest album clocking in at 92 mins, and that is has their longest song ever recorded on it an 18 min song and the fact that they pulled all this off very well at this point in their career says a lot about this band.

Just finished my review a couple of days ago, and I´m much more positive about the album after having listened to it in full enough times to write a review. I still think there are a couple of relatively unremarkable tracks on the it, but there are some really great ones too, so all in all it´s another great release by Iron Maiden.

OK, have listened to it enough now for an opinion, and as much as I like Speed Of Light, I gotta go for the ultra-epic Empire Of The Clouds.
