Hi, I just found this site and forum yesterday. I like the album review section so I added a couple recent ones that I wrote. I'm not a professional writer, just a listener and lover of hard rock and heavy metal. I also play guitar, just as a home hobby though. On Facebook I run an unofficial fan group called Yngwie Malmsteen 100% and a blog page there called Neo-Classic FX Blog. I guess from that you can gather that my favorite genre of music is Neoclassic Rock. As a profession I've been a Computer Tech since 1985. I've been married for 28 years and have 2 grown up daughters. Enough about me. I think this site is pretty cool and I look forward to hearing about all the new album releases and reading the forum topics.

Welcome to MMA Steve . Great to have a new reviewer here. And one who writes about a genre of music that isn´t that often covered here. Can´t say it´s my personal favorite style of music, but I´ve listened to a fair deal of Yngwie releases during the years (love the debut especially).

Thanks! Yeah I'm with you on the debut release Rising Force era. I like that as the bible of the style and more than Yngwie's recent releases. That's also why I've branched out to other neoclassic players who follow the Rising Force game plan. I literally used to listen to nothing but Yngwie, as my wife can attest. But thanks to players I've discovered like Dean Cascione and his mentor Joe Stump, they give me new hope. Through them I've found dozens of other players that still keep the neoclassic faith. But I also like classic hard rock and heavy metal by other bands too so you may see a future review or at least forum talk about their music as well. Thanks for having such a great place here and gathering of like minded members.

Hey Steve, welcome! I've always loved neo-classical shredders and i've reviewed a few here but my tastes have become so eclectic i can't keep up with it all! Personally i love the oldies but goodies, Yngwie's first couple albums, Steve Vai, Jason Becker, Marty Friedman but have gotten into newer (well 90s) shredders like Borislav Mitic, Bumblefoot, Matthias Eklundh and as you've probably noticed Buckethead. Still haven't checked out Joe Stump so thanks for reviewing him :)

Howdy. New reviewers are always welcome! Don't know much about shredders myself, but I'll have a read...
