I guess I don't know/haven't heard of enough 2008 albums. Vote your favorite, and feel free to list your favorite/s if not in the poll.

I give an easy vote for Helstar, but My Ruin closely follows.

Falconer out of these.

2008 was a pretty good year for me, but Falconer is the only real favourite included here.

Akphaezya - Anthology II: Links From the Dead Trinity would be my absolute #1 for 2008. Also one of my favourites of all time.

Others of note:

Ayreon - 01011001
Elvenking - Two Tragedy Poets (...And a Caravan of Weird Figures)
Pharaoh - Be Gone
Sig:Ar:Tyr - Beyond the North Winds
To-Mera - Delusions

Both the Cynic and the Meshuggah albums are among my favorites. I´ll have to go with Meshuggah here though.

Voted Amon Amarth, although personally I would have put

the Evergrey out of those.

I know it gets a bad rap, but that album combines all the great riffing of the early Evergrey albums with the shorter-song/more radio-friendly style they tried to do with 'Monday Morning Apocalypse' (and failed with on MMA, quite frankly). I think it's Evergrey's best album.

My other 2008 vote would go to All Ends self-titled. Maybe my 2008 album of the year. All the music was written by Jesper Stromblad and Bjorn Gelotte from In Flames. It kicks ass Smile

Bjorn's sister is the black-haired singer.

Not my favourite year for sure. I voted for Testament from the list.

I'd like to have seen Volbeat, I really like Guitar Gangsters and Cadillac Blood, very catchy stuff. Hexen's debut was one of the good neo-thrash albums and so was Citizen Brain by Gama Bomb and Feed the Beast by Bonded by Blood. Really like Cannabis Corpse, there's more to them than weed puns for sure.

Pharaoh released a lovely power metal album, Stormwarrior released their best album (Heading Northe, Kai Hansen worship, so naturally I like it). Greece's Battleroar also released a very charming epic heavy metal album (To Death and Beyond). I think Enforcer released their debut in 2008 and it's a good album.

Overall though, I am missing the "Holy shit! OMG" album this year.

Dang, I can't believe I forgot about Serenity - Fallen Sanctuary. I want to change my vote to that :o

The Testament album was killer, too.
