Thought this would be a fun poll, what is your favorite comeback album from a band that was away for awhile? Feel free to list your favorite/s if I forgot or don't know them.

For me it's probably Helstar - The King of Hell (Predictable, I know.)

Alice in Chains.

Of the albums on the list I do prefer Brave New World, but never thought of it as a comeback album. Iron Maiden never actually went away after all.

I put the Iron Maiden and Judas Priest albums there because they were in a sense "comeback" albums as they both featured the return of a long-running vocalist.

Exodus...Tempo of the Damned blew me away when it was released.

Brave New World. I don't know about having Repentless on that list. Slayer didn't break up or anything. Yes, Jeff died, but the album was actually on the way before that.

Brave New World. You can consider it a comeback in two ways: First is the obvious one (Bruce and Adrian returning,) and also because after they released some so-so albums, at least by their standards, it was the huge return to form they needed, while also feeling surprisingly fresh. Really, that's one of the most impressive albums I've ever heard, when you consider the whole situation around it, and their current run on the whole has been nothing short of stunning.

Probably Maiden, but gave my vote to Purple. It was an album with so many expectations at the time and so much could have disappointed. Turned out to be a great album.

Deep Purple but Maiden close second. Don't really think that was a Pantera comeback album, simply the last album
