Lately I've noticed that the star ratings on the site keep disappearing and reappearing (at least for me). This happens both on stuff I've rated already and stuff I haven't. It's glogal across the site when it does, including the stars disappearing on the list of ratings people have left on album pages, leaving just a list of names. They usually come back by refreshing the page though.

Except that right now they're gone and for the first time they aren't coming back no matter how many times I refresh the page.

I use Firefox as my main browser but I checked and Chrome is doing it too.

This is actually a similar issue to the site not liking https:// used in other areas over http://. Make sure the MMA URL is not trying to force https://.

For some reason web browsers can block the ratings when trying to go through https:// security because for whatever reason Max hasn't applied it to any of the sites in the MMA network.

And before anyone thinks this is cause for alarm, a lot of sites don't have proper https:// security either. We're no less secure than Encyclopaedia Metallum in this regard.

Thanks, that actually worked.

It seems that whenever the new search is used and I click on a result the https is automatically being applied.

I've gotten that issue too with the search, that's why I just type the artist or album I'm looking for in the URL.
