Like it says on the tin, show your appreciation of all things electronic! Be it industrial, EBM, trance, downtempo, house music, dubstep, ambient, experimental, etc.!

I personally like psytrance and psybient music but also like some industrial, EBM, and aggrotech. I also like chill-out and downtempo music and some ambient as well. Some artists I've enjoyed are Skinny Puppy, Shpongle, 1200 Micrograms, Infected Mushroom, Tangerine Dream, Nightmares on Wax, Boards of Canada, Entheogenic, and a few others I can't think of atm.

What about you guys? What are some artists and genres/sub-genres you enjoy?

I love electronic music, especially Kraftwerk, deadmau5, Aphex Twin, Daft Punk, and 90's stuff like The Orb, Orbital, Eat Static, Portishead, etc. I still need to check out Shpongle, I've been meaning to for a while now.

Speaking of Orbital, apparently they've recently gotten back together again and are working on a new album! New song:

What a minuscule list compared to now, with my love of electronic music being equal to my love of metal these days. LOL

deadmau5 is still my top favorite, and maybe favorite musician in general (It's a close tie between him and Clutch). The Chemical Brothers, Underworld, The Crystal Method, Eat Static (and all of Merv Pepler's awesome music), Kraftwerk, Squarepusher, Fluke, Propellerheads, Xploding Plastix, Rasmus, Daft Punk, Mocean Worker, Yoshinori Sunahara are all among my top favorites.

The new BSOD EP (BSOD is deadmau5 and Steve Duda) was fantastic and probably my favorite release this year so far.

Khaliq, thanks for the link. I'll respond directly here as to not clog up the other thread. I'm also a big fan of The Chemical Brothers (first 2 releases are just pure gold) and The Prodigy (one of the best live artists I have ever witnessed).

Further than the above, my experience is extremely limited in terms of albums. I like some ambient stuff like Boards of Canada and Four Tet and I like the odd bit of Deadmau5 and early Daft Punk so I guess you could say its all pretty mainstream for the most part which is quite the opposite of my taste in metal.

I've never been obsessive with electronic music the same way I am with rock/metal based music for which I can't listen to anything without simultaneously researching stuff such as releases dates/band member etc - something MMA has been a great tool for (alongside Wikipedia of course).

I know there is likely much out there I will love and would appreciate some recommendations if you are able to advise?

Easy for me is to just list some of my favorite albums from artists you didn't list, like these:

Bentley Rhythm Ace - Self-titled (Big beat/breakbeat):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3IWl77o3l50
The Crystal Method - Vegas (Atmospheric big beat):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gNXLCDOC9NQ
Eat Static - Science of the Gods (psytrance/breakbeat from former members of space rock band Ozric Tentacles):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VxlJKgRdh38
Flexitones - Joyrider (Big beat side-project of members of Eat Static and Propellerheads):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XU-eoHYhz2U
Fluke - Risotto (Techno/breakbeat):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Inz9Urx40OI
Indian Ropeman - Self-Titled (Big beat/trip hop with Indian instruments like the Sitar and Tabla):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFC8hbtiJRs
Rasmus - Mass Hysteria (Very eclectic big beat album that stretches across several electronic genres with few songs being alike):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SwE0bcUJcD8
Squarepusher - Go Plastic (Drill and bass, the extreme metal of electronic music):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ddzcYjgNZY
Underworld - Beaucoup Fish (Techno/house/breakbeat):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W3Ud0UG7JbQ

A couple more specific recommendations:

The Future Sound of London's Dead Cities album would probably be something you'd enjoy if you haven't heard it already, as it has a mix of both BoC-esque ambient with some really hard-hitting big beat.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z20ut8NKQtQ
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fnuMWRCraCA

Cirrus is classic big beat in the vein of Chemical Brothers and The Crystal Method but also with a touch of Daft Punk:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DjKSpPGVJlY

and along with the new DJ Rozwell, here's another new electronic albums I've been enjoying a lot:
Ursula's Cartridges (Very eclectic artist, can't really call him one genre):
https://ursulascartridges.bandcamp.com/album/sights-sounds-conversations-w-codex-encyclopedia-27012021-set

and I have a list on RYM for metal mixed with electronic music if you're interested:
https://rateyourmusic.com/list/Unitron/metaltronica_electrometal-metal-meets-electronic-and-vice-versa/

Sorry if this is too overwhelming lol

Not at all overwhelming - nothing better than getting recommendations from a reliable source. It's much appreciated. I'll get some of these checked out soon (once my current mathcore stint comes to an end haha).

Absolutely loving Vegas by The Crystal Method. Perfect for today's rare Scottish sunshine.

Thanks for the tip!

^Great to hear! Favorite song? Vapor Trail has always been mine. Their next two albums are also really good, Tweekend has a different mood, but Legion of Boom has a similar atmosphere to Vegas.

I just posted this in the Movies thread but thought it might be of interest here. This 2017 documentary has some great interviews and covers all sorts of stuff, from when Wax Trax! was just a record store, through Ministry's early days, to the collaborations with Front 242 which became the Revolting Cocks, to Laibach, Throbbing Gristle, and even Nine Inch Nails.

Never heard them before, but definitely sounds like something I'll be checking out more of. Listened to a couple songs and reminded me a bit of recent Front Line Assembly in places but less industrial. I'll check out some of the others you mentioned only ones I'm familiar of the linked artists are 2814 and Burial.

In the vein of 2814, one of my favorite vaporwave artists on the ambient side is Golden Living Room: https://goldenlivingroom.bandcamp.com/album/post-internet

Comaduster is a solo project of Real Cardinal.
Btw he has another electronic project called Underfelt which is more atmospheric and slow mix of IDM, dubstep and dark ambient: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_kFW3i4B6-U2qUHmIJ69MjrZhyhodIxI_k

I don't know much about electronic music genres, but I like modern electronic sounds and a little bit of ambient music. I believe that electronic music has a lot in common with modern instrumental metal and rock. My favourites electronic projects are Daft Punk, DVRKLXGHT и iwilldiehere. Why a lot of words, you can just look at my author’s playlist, which explains everything)
